MOTIVE TO ACT:
A challenge to see if I’m capable to simply practice Yoga without any unnecessary motives in the midst of Intense distractions. I want to prove it’s possible to attain Yoga even in this age of material worship and spiritual decline.          -Nandiswara

Echo from The Cave: 1

DSC_0240Time slips by unnoticed

Suddenly I gaze up

My breath escapes
as the first light of dawn
paints the sky in shades
of the mystical Twilight
that You love,

My Dearest Beloved

SALUTATION:

“Let there be a salutation to the holy first Lord (Śiva),
who taught the science of Haṭha Yoga.
Radiantly it shines forth,
like a stairway to the aspirant
who aims to climb up to the lofty heights of Rāja Yoga.”
-Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā 1-1

In the glaring sunlight and heat, amongst the loud bustle of a music concert crowd at Union Square, the two disciples went beyond the duality of scorching heat and noise to create an atmosphere of silent stillness.                                                                          –YasodaDSC_0176

EXPERIENCE:
When I choose to fight rather than escape from challenges, something changes within. My capacity expanded and the mind became more focused. Agitations provide opportunity both in life and during Asana practices to meet the battle of the mind. Being a controlled environment, Asanas are perfect for the mind to learn not to habitually follow the ever changing mental states. The world becomes different as the result.                                             -Nandiswara

EXPERIENCE:
Withdrawing into stillness, the arms and legs of the world swirl around me in continuous dance. Moving yet not moving. As I loose myself in breath and in thought of the Master, I get the overwhelming feeling that it is God swirling around me and within me too.
Quietly I rejoice.    　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　-Sadhya                                                                    　　                                                         IMG_3531
